Why do a cover cd? What's that all about?
D.O.A. is about a lot of different things.
First and foremost, it's a way for me to give something back to all those people who have supported me. This cd is for them as my way of saying "Thanks". Anyone who has purchased a cd from me will be getting this in the mail. It's a collection of 9 cover songs and one original track. It was done quickly, it's very raw, and it was a ton of fun to make.
Secondly, it's about friendship. It features Dean Taylor, joining me on a couple of songs. Dean and I have been in bands together since I was in the 6th grade. We're like brothers and getting together again was more enjoyable than I could have imagined. Scot Goacher is once again riding the thunder on drums, and as always carries more than his share of the weight. What better excuse for three old friends to get together, drink beer and goof off? We should have learned the songs before the beer...
Lastly, one of the main questions I always get asked in interviews is "Who were your influences?". This is a chance for me to answer that and at the same time pay tribute to those who came before me and who I still admire to this day. Maybe one of these songs will inspire you to go back and enjoy the classics all over again.
My sincerest thanks to you all.

The Kansas, USA based one man metal army / solo artist known
as JOHNNY LÖKKE is back to trash the metal world with
his very special covers only cd "DOA". This time
around Johnny has interpreted songs from such heavy hitters
like KROKUS-Headhunter, AC/DC-Sin City, IRON MAIDEN-Run
To The Hills, KISS-Shout It Out Loud, THIN LIZZY-Don't Believe
A Word, SCORPIONS-Another Piece of Meat, UFO-Natural Thing,
JUDAS PRIEST-Hell Bent for Leather and ARMORED SAINT-March
of the Saint in such a feverish and convincing manner, that
it is a real treat to hear his super metallic versions that
rival the original versions of the songs. Johnny is one
rocker who takes no prisoners and who will leave all non-believers
in a state of shock with his incredible singing and ferocious
guitar playing style.

"It was my first concert in 1979 when I first heard Halford scream. I still hear it."
